Epinions AWESOME CAMERA

by  christitansfan,  Aug 14, 2006
Pros: Everything. Size, ease of use, hard drive, quality, ect.
Cons: Goofy people that think it's a digital picture camera and give it bad reviews.
Review: I am 100% happy with my camera. It is compact, good quality, and easy to use. I got this camera for my birthday and I have had a blast with it ever since. I can't wait to have babies and record them growing up. My wife and I record all family events ...

Epinions Truly Digital Video

by  Manyacs47,  Apr 27, 2007
Pros: excellent videos, easy file transfer, easy archiving of files
Cons: no viewfinder, worthless still camera, proprietary video file format
The Bottom Line: This is an excellent addition for the family seeking to digitize their home gadgetry.
Review: The JVC Everio GZ-MG37 is a leap forward in integration for the digital home. Over the years I had been happy with my previous camcorders, including a now historic 1984 over the shoulder VHS model. I have usually waited for quantum leaps in ...

Epinions Consider it The Ultimate Vacation Camera

by  mrspink,  Jun 9, 2007
Pros: Compact size and HDD Format. Very good outdoor performance
Cons: .mod file format and indoor/lower lighting conditions
The Bottom Line: The perfect camera for vacations and the great outdoors. For indoor and lower light conditions you may want to keep looking
Review: The Everio offers many great things. It is incredibly small, lightweight and compact. The HDD is simply awesome when on trips and the outdoors in general as you are saved the hassle of carrying and cueing up tapes. You will also find that the outdoor ...

Epinions great concept, but the video quality is not

by  mrkoder,  Sep 13, 2006
Pros: Great concept! Extremely user-friendly. Powerful zoom. Extra features.
Cons: EXPENSIVE! Video quality is questionable. 16:9 files stretched back to 4:3 when played.
The Bottom Line: This camera is for you if you don't like messing with tapes and disks. But, don't count on it if you want the best video quality.
Review: It took me several months of waiting for a good deal on some new technology. I heard enough stories about miniDV, DVD etc. from friends and I think those cameras are not really user-friendly and convenient... Got a good deal at Costco for this one, ...

Epinions Great step into the future.

by  prmass,  Mar 30, 2006
Pros: 1hr transfer in 5min, mpg supported by many editors, size
Cons: pictures good for emailing or web, native 16:9 is just a mimic
Review: Say no more to tapes.I just bought the GZ-MG37 and was up and running the camera in a short time. My biggest leap in 9 years from that of VHS-C. I can transfer the .mod files to the PC hard drive and you just rename the extension file to .mpg, and thats ...

Epinions Not the best bang for your buck

by  nitrozip,  Aug 16, 2007
Pros: No tapes, DVD's. 30 GB Hard Drive. Awesome sound quality. Small and lightweight.
Cons: Poor video quality for an expensive Hard drive camera The .mod files are a pain
The Bottom Line: Don't buy it, not your best bang for your dollar.
Review: I got the JVC Everio GZ-MG37u Camcorder using my Air Miles program. It did cost me 7600 air miles which at the average cost per mile being .11 cents or so made this camera worth about $836 CAN. All that being said, for that price don't buy this camera. ...

Epinions JVC Everio Not ready for primetime

by  rexster314,  Jun 3, 2006
Pros: Small, fairly easy to set up and use. Good zoom lens aboard
Cons: Too small for larger hands to control. No viewfinder, only flip out screen
Review: I purchased this camera while on vacation in Waikiki in April. At Costco, the price was $699. It has all the features most want, nice size optical zoom lens, 7 hour record time on a hard drive, still snapshot capability. I played the videos back through ...

Epinions Why kill the convenience of HD with proprietary .mod format?

by  pcochran,  Oct 15, 2006
Pros: small. big HD. intuitive.
Cons: .mod video format.
Review: I bought the $500+ JVC Everio GZ-MG37u yesterday based upon the small physical size, large 30GB HD, and ease-of-use of HD over tape. What the marketing doesn't tell you (besides splashing "MPEG2 video" on the box) is that the camera exports video files ...
