Epinions The next step in high end transportable automotive GPS

by  bramfrank,  Oct 30, 2005
Pros: User interface. Excellent display technology, 3D, text to speech, Proximity Points of Interest and more.
Cons: Early release firmware (upgradeable) was less than 100% robust. PC required for PPOI.
The Bottom Line: This is a really neat device. I have had many GPS units and this is second on my list. I STILL prefer the 276c, mind you.
Review: Update - November 30, 2005 Note that Garmin has released a 512 Meg memory chip that works in the 276c, which is the preferred alternative I propose for those considering this model. That is enough to cover about half of the continent in one load. ...

Epinions Do you have an adventurous spirit? Give Lucy a try!

by  writersbloq,  Jan 2, 2008
Pros: Spectacularly inventive routes you may never take otherwise, touchscreen is fantastic, many routing options.
Cons: She sometimes mispronounces things. UC Berkeley comes out "Uck Berkeley", which is about right.
The Bottom Line: I have not found another mobile GPS with the features, accuracy, and flair that the Garmin 2720 has. I highly recommend this unit.
Review: You can get specs from www.garmin.com. I am not here to help with specs, I will instead give you a real life example of usage. Our first experience with Garmin's 2720,(which we lovingly refer to as Lucy), was on a 2-week roadtrip from northern ...

Epinions Best GPS I found to date

by  ispi,  May 14, 2006
Pros: Very easy to use, customizable, easy to see. Great value for price
Cons: Occasionally route is somewhat odd.
The Bottom Line: If you can afford it, get it. This is a great unit for anybody to use
Review: I read a lot of reviews before purchasing my first GPS, it was a Magellen Roadmate 800. Without going into detail (you can read my review of the 800) I returned it after 50 days. The 2720 is so superior to the Magellen it isn't even funny. The ...

Epinions Excellent choice!

by  rkeeton,  Apr 27, 2007
Pros: Excellent display. Clear, healthy audio. Excellent, easily updated database,.
Cons: None, this system seems solid.
The Bottom Line: Excellent product. Zero complaints.
Review: I've owned two GPS systems. The first was part of the car in a 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid-Navi, so I was spoiled with audio through the car's AM/FM/CD system. It would fade the sound system to play the next voice prompt and the fade up the tunes. ...

by  iyaayas46190,  Jun 2, 2006
Pros: Precise, turn by turn, directions with plenty of time to prepare.
Cons: Newer roads not yet in system.
The Bottom Line: If you travel much you will wish you had bought it earlier.
Review: I travel extensively, on my job, all over the country. Frequently I drive but occasionally I will need to fly and rent a car. If you have ever found yourself in a strange city you can really appreciate this product. It not only gives you precise ...

Epinions Latest Technology - Excellent Product

by  sabato,  Nov 12, 2005
Pros: Good audio instructions, automatically varying display zoom levels, street name completion, comprehensive destination database.
Cons: 100% of precious screen real estate should be dedicated to the map.
Review: I have StreetPilot experience with an older unit and purchased the 2720. Its use is highly intuitive, the touch screen is simple, and it even has a remote for when the unit is just out of reach. None of the complaints that I have seen have appeared in my ...

Epinions 2720 wow

by  nbrtmpr,  Jan 30, 2006
Pros: Screen changes to night colors automatically. Lots of interfaces and features.
Cons: Deleting a waypoint or destination seems difficult and I do make U-turns.
Review: I was in the middle of the Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge with an overpowering desire for a steak lunch. The Garmin took me turn by turn to Klamath FAlls, to a Sizzler, for a very adaquate lunch (the alternative was a granola bar) and then back to ...
