Epinions Great way to enter into the DSLR world

by  dkaakd,  Dec 18, 2006
Pros: Professional features in a consumer minded package
Cons: Kit lenses are mostly junk (but they are cheap)
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this camera. I also recommend going to web sites like www.flickr.com to view image taken with this model and others.
Review: This Christmas we upgraded from a Nikon 4500 point and shoot (digicam) to a Canon XTi (Rebel 400D). There were several reasons for this and I will try to explain my decision making logic below: The first thing to consider for me was cost. I found ...

Epinions Big Dog on the block

by  pawtraitp,  Oct 2, 2006
Pros: High resolution, sensor cleaning, fast
Cons: a little on the light side
The Bottom Line: All those people buying Sony DSC and Kodak 800 series, trade them in, your camera is ready - a real dSLR at a regular persons price
Review: The Rebel XTi is the newest member of the Digital Rebel family As befits the market leader in digital cameras they have taken a successful product and improved it. Where the original Rebel sported 6.3MP, the XT sported 8MP the new XTi sports 10.1MP ...

Epinions Yes, I made a right decision!!!

by  photoholic,  Mar 7, 2007
Pros: inexpensive, RAW image, many lenses to select, high resolution, 2.5" LCD...
Cons: no built-in IS, user manual is small, included software is almost useless...
The Bottom Line: the amount of money for that much quality => excellent
Review: The professional cameras are too expensive! Film cameras don't give me a chance/choice to edit or select which pictures to be processed. Point and Shoot cameras don't give me a professional level of control depth of fields, apertures, shutter speed, ...

Epinions Perfect

by  joesmith36,  Oct 26, 2007
Pros: fast, amazing resolution, sensor cleaner, sturdy build, options galore, nice monitor, good software package, Canon
Cons: I'll probably find some cons sometime. Right? We'll see.
The Bottom Line: If you want a really good DSLR then this is the one to get.
Review: While the word perfect sums this camera up, well, perfectly, I'll elaborate a little. I just received this camera last night and I've already taken better pictures than I was ever able to with any digital or SLR. While it's my first DSLR, the research ...

Epinions Great Camera

by  rgruss,  Sep 14, 2006
Pros: Features, comparative price, fits my hand, easy to use as is, takes great photos
Cons: not easy to carry and keep handy, no zoom above 55mm, price
The Bottom Line: Buy it, you will like it. I bought mine on the Sep 3 and 30 words is not enough to get started explaining all the reasons I like it.
Review: I haven't been able to take anything except typical photos since my Minolta 101 wore out. I normally used a 55mm 1.2 or 75-150 mm lens with either ASA 160 or 400 Ectachrome. The Xti is taking a broader range of photos at mind blowing resolutions. ...

Epinions Canon 400D SLR twin lens kit

by  lance0059,  Jun 30, 2007
Pros: Ease of use, many features, quality images, sensor cleaning, light enough for astrophotography
Cons: viewfinder too small for astro focusing, kit lens are not value, body a little small
The Bottom Line: Good quality images from a camera most people will find invaluable. Easy to operate with many extra features. Speed, Resolution, Accesories, Price are all winnners.
Review: The Canon 400D is my first DSLR and am very happy with it. Purchased for Astrophotography, the images from my first nights photography are better than a most of my images taken using film camera's. Manual focus is a bit of an issue for astro photography ...

Epinions Canon EOS 400D

by  nicheguru,  Apr 21, 2007
Pros: Good user interface large LCD monitor with 160° viewing angles
Cons: nothing so far I can find
The Bottom Line: Nice camera and improved version from Canon. Trust Canon for quality.
Review: Almost exactly three years since Canon changed the digital SLR market forever (with the $1,000 EOS 300D) they announced the third generation of their affordable entry level series, the EOS 400D (Digital Rebel XTi). This new camera follows the design of ...

Epinions Great Camera... better than I expected.

by  TonyCongo,  Oct 5, 2006
Pros: High resolution, great LCD screen, fast.
Cons: not so comfortable in hand, or nose.
Review: Right out of the box this camera blew all my other pictures away. The 10 megapixels is incredible. I am an artist an need the extra detail for my model studies and reproductions, and the XTi fit the bill and more. This is probably the best camera I've ...
