JVC's HDD based Everio line has always been promising, but everyone is pining for more room for video, especially in a camera with no way to swap in more media when you're running out of space. JVC is giving up the good stuff with its 30GB GZ-MG37 camera. At the highest quality, the 30GB model records 7 hour of video, with a 680k CCD and a powerful 32x optical zoom.

Not the best bang for your buck

Pros: No tapes, DVD's. 30 GB Hard Drive. Awesome sound quality. Small and lightweight.

Cons: Poor video quality for an expensive Hard drive camera The .mod files are a pain

The Bottom Line: Don't buy it, not your best bang for your dollar.

Review: I got the JVC Everio GZ-MG37u Camcorder using my Air Miles program. It did cost me 7600 air miles which at the average cost per mile being .11 cents or so made this camera worth about $836 CAN. All that being said, for that price don't buy this camera. ...

Consider it The Ultimate Vacation Camera

Pros: Compact size and HDD Format. Very good outdoor performance

Cons: .mod file format and indoor/lower lighting conditions

The Bottom Line: The perfect camera for vacations and the great outdoors. For indoor and lower light conditions you may want to keep looking
